Staff Accountant (Temp-to-Hire)

Location: Sacramento, CA
Compensation: $33-$36 per hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Sacramento. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations and offers the potential for permanent placement based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Support financial reporting and variance analysis
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with audits as needed
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial data

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role
• Experience with ERP systems required; Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience preferred (other ERP experience acceptable)
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
